Sharing Public Access Points
Share
As most of you know I’m very open on giving location details on my YouTube episodes. I talk about where I’m at and even provide GPS points to help you on your next adventure.
Most of our subscribers appreciate the support and the suggestions I offer up, but others might call me out for ”spot burning”.
I understand the frustration with “spot burning” but I also understand you bought a license to fish and that license fee helps provide public fishing access.
I choose to highlight public spots for a reason. If it was private access I would never share that information to the entire world, unless the owner gave me permission to do so.
My goal has always been to inspire more people to get outside, respect the resource, and hopefully become better stewards of it. If more folks care about these waters, that’s more voices speaking up to protect them. That's just me.
So how do you find public fishing access?
There are tons of resources that can help you plan your next trip. Don’t forget to stop at the local fly shops in the area your visiting or maybe even a bait and tackle shop.
Also building relationships thru different fishing and kayak forums online can be a benefit, just don’t swoop in and start asking for spots.
You‘ve got to be apart of the community and provide positive communication, once you do that you’ll start building friendships.
Over the last couple of years I’ve spent hundreds of hours online researching for public access spots and have pinned hundreds in my Google Maps account.
Last year I began adding reviews and photos to many of these public access locations within Google Maps.
Also I compiled a list of known public access points in Missouri and Arkansas.
If your interested you can follow me on Google Maps.
