When you first get into fly fishing, we all tend to gravitate toward our favorite gear. The great thing about this sport is the variety of choices available to suit your style.
Some anglers prefer the feel of a medium-action rod, while others lean toward the responsiveness of a fast-action rod. But one thing we can all agree on is the desire for high-quality gear at a reasonable price.

Bass Leader Material When building fishing leaders I use Cortland’s Monofilament Nylon Leader Material to build all my bass fishing leaders. I use 4ft of 20lb down to a micro swivel then add 2ft of 14lb down to my fly. Simple to build and gets the job done. |

Trout Leader Material For my trout fishing leaders I use Cortland’s Fluorocarbon XTR Leader Material to build all my trout fishing leaders. For chunkin’ smaller streamers I use 4ft of 10lb down to a micro swivel then add 2ft of 5X down to my fly. Simple and effective. |
