Conner’s Chronicles Creek Fishing for Ozark Smallies
Share
On this outing, my son and I venture out to Indian Creek in southwest Missouri. We’ve been spending a lot of time on this beautiful creek, exploring different access points and sections. Recently, I encountered some really nice smallmouth bass and wanted to get my son out there to see if we could find them again.
Conner is still learning the ropes but is picking things up quickly. He even managed to hook a couple of nice fish before I did. He still needs to work on mending and proper fish handling, but his excitement and joy when he hooks a fish are just awesome.
During this outing, I mentioned to him the possibility of having his own episodes and maybe even managing the YouTube channel one day. He was very excited, and to be honest, so was I.
When I started this channel, I had two main goals in mind: What kind of legacy will I leave behind for my kids? To answer that question, it’s about being honest, living your life with integrity, being passionate about something, helping others when you can, and living your life to the fullest. Fishing has filled my life with joy for most of my life. There were times when I didn’t fish, and looking back, I wish I could go back and cast a line. But we move forward, and I’m so happy my son has the passion for fly fishing and might one day take the reins and carry on what I started.
The second reason for the channel is you. It’s about building relationships with like-minded people and encouraging everyone to get out and explore. Stop fishing from the bank and get your boots wet.
